Job Role: Export Manager
“Working in wine honestly came as a result of having a passion for and experience of working in a very International environment; figuring out how to get products to market, on time and in the correct packaging.
Wine is something that I got into later and have come to love as part of being able to interact with people from so many different countries and cultures.
I am still overwhelmed by wine as a product; the vastness of the selection available, the geography and associated rules…not to mention the constant misconception that my friends think I should always know what to order from a wine list when we go out!
Outside of work I love to travel! Both overseas and to explore some of the beautiful English countryside, which enables me to pursue my love of walking with friends, with our dogs, eating and drinking in many of our wonderful Inns around the country, and the occasional trip into Manchester to see what’s new and bustling. To compensate for spending a lot of time on cramped aeroplanes I go the gym as often as I can.”
Job Role: Export Sales Manager (Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Australia, Nordics)
“After a short career in chain and car engines in Munich, I decided a life where I get to travel the world tasting incredible wines was more suited to me and I have never looked back. But I do still enjoy the occasional Lowenbrau and Weisswurst!
Recently I’ve been really enjoying South African whites, unoaked Barberas from Piemonte and, of course, English sparkling.
When I’m not in the office you can usually find me on a ski slope somewhere in winter and trying not to capsize on a boat somewhere in summer!”
Job Role: Export Sales Manager (Canada)
Born on the east coast of Canada, now living on the west, with years spent in parts in between, I am as Canadian as they come. When not extolling the virtues of Boutinot wines across this vast, beautiful land, I am skiing, running, downward-dogging, talking hockey, cooking with my fantastic family and dreaming about my next dog: a Newfoundland!
Job Role: International New World Product Manager
My passion for wine was well and truly ignited after spending time studying languages in Mediterranean countries, and indulging in the array of delightful offerings that are part of daily life! I actively pursued a career in wine and worked for an organic wine company before joining Boutinot in 2005 and completing my Diploma.
My go-to wines would be Italian Pecorino, Eden Valley Riesling, good Chilean Carménère and rustic Spanish reds. I’m also a huge supporter of English Fizz!
Two crazy kids take up most of my spare time however as a fledgling Yogini you may also find me practising my “Sirsasana“. I love to travel abroad, but also dedicate time to exploring more of our beautiful homeland ; although us Brits like to moan about the weather, I adore our ever changing seasons!
Job Role: Export sales manager (Denmark, Russia, CIS states, Ukraine, Kazakhstan)
“I am a lover of food, wine, family and friends, and happiest when I get the chance to mix them all up together! Outside of wine and work I like walking, glamping, long weekends and sunny weather.”
Job Role: Export Sales Manager (France, Switzerland, Iceland, Lebanon, Malta, Greece, Cyprus, Bahamas, Caribbean, Indian Ocean)
“I got into wine 5 years ago whilst on an internship in China. I thought the world of wine was just fascinating and decided to pursue a career in this path. I play football, I love food, Rhone Valley wines, food and did I mention food?”
Job Role: Export Sales Manager (Japan & South Korea)
“I grew up in a small village in Normandy, northern France, where my family taught me that the best things to share with our loved ones are conversation, food and wine.
As I didn’t want to wait for Normandy to become a winegrowing area, I decided to move to the Loire Valley for my studies, where I discovered my favourite grape: Chenin Blanc. Life then took me to Asia, where conversation, food and wine continued to bring me into contact with people from all over the world. They, like me, believe in the producers they import and just want to make wine more accessible for everybody.”
Job Role: Export Sales Manager (India, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Africa, UK)
“I’ve always been fascinated by wine, but but I never considered a career in wine possible until I stumbled across a Majestic Wines booth at a careers fair.
I’ve never looked back and can’t imagine working in another industry.
Any wine made well can be excellent, but a good Sancerre or a great Napa Cab take some beating! When my time’s not taken up with my family I love watching and playing cricket, cooking and reading…pretty much anything quiet!”
Job Role: Export Sales Manager (Germany, Italy, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand)
“I love biking and walking with my family in the mountains surrounding Barcelona. I like action movies, and I get carried away with Monk and Coltrane. And, of course, I enjoy food, wine, family and friends, if possible, all together!”
Job Role: Export Sales Manager (Spain, Belgium, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Baltics, Serbia, Mexico, South America)
“I started in the wine business back in 2003 when I was employed as a junior sales rep in a local winery in Yecla, Spain. While it’s great to be based locally and near my family, I do love South Africa and the wonderful wines made there. My wife and children keep me pretty busy, but I also enjoy Hapkido (martial arts) and Reggae music.”
Job Role: Export Sales Manager (South East Asia)
It all started in New Zealand in 2012, when I left home to join my first wine company. From this point on my passion for wine was sealed!
Now based in Vietnam, when I do get a chance to go home, I spend my time fishing in the lakes and rivers of Brittany or exploring different wine regions. Southern Rhône Valley blends and grenache-orientated blends are my favourite.”
Job Role: International Sales and Marketing Support
“Language boffin and grammar pedant, who found my way to Boutinot by happy accident and relished the opportunity to learn more about wine.
I am starting to enjoy the subtlety of white wine, but big, bold reds are still my glass of choice.
Outside of work you can usually find me in the nearest cheese shop, knitting my latest project or obsessing over other peoples’ dogs.”
Job Role: International Customer Services
“I enjoy dining out and a glass or two of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. My weekends are usually spent with family and friends, or alternatively I like sewing, reading, shopping or walking. And learning about wine, of course!”
Job Role: International Customer Services
“A recent addition to the ‘family’!
My curiosity for wine has been inspired by the passion and enthusiasm of the Boutinot team: when love of wine is in the air, you are naturally drawn to it!
Aside from this new interest, I love to travel, study languages and spend as much time outdoors as possible.”
