Sourced in Paarl, vines are mostly old bush vines (average age between 20-30 years), planted at a density of approx 3700/ha. Soils are deep red Paardeberg soil. No irrigation is used on the vineyards and very little crop control is needed due to the age of the vines naturally restricting yield. All grapes are harvested by hand. Produced from only free run juice and fermented on skins in stainless stell tanks. The wine is left on fine lees for an extended period for greater palate weight and mouthfeel.
A fresh, dry Chenin with broad appeal displaying classic baked apple and zippy citrus aromas with soft, delicate stone fruit flavours on the palate and well balanced by ripe, lemony acidity.
An easy match for shellfish, grilled chicken and white fish.
