Production
From selected vineyards on Swartland’s granite-rich, alluvial soils which produce low yields of small concentrated berries. Hand picked and naturally fermented in stainless steel tanks. 30 % whole bunch, 70 % whole berry fermented to add complexity and tannin structure. Pump overs done once daily during fermentation. With fermentation done, wine is pressed and returned to tank for Malolactic fermentation. 15% spends a few months in older 300 litre barrels.
Tasting notes
Warm and open on the nose with invitingly ripe redcurrant and raspberry fruit and a hint of spice. Juicy and approachable on the palate with a core of gentle red berry fruit nicely balanced by fresh acidity and a rounded, supple finish.
